Service With a Smile
As you all know great service is expected from EVERYONE. So why is it so hard to give it? We feel like the guests expect too much or you had a bad night and your tired, or your girlfriend or boyfriend is being stupid. We have a million reasons to put the blame on why we don't give excellent customer service. So how can we do it? For some it's a simple matter of just being a genuinely nice person and it comes naturally. For others it could be the money (tips) that drive you and for some it's just a job because your parents told you to get a job. If that last reason is the case for you then set down the plate and run, because this is not the "job" for you and won't need to read any further. You'll be doing yourself and the future guests, out there, a huge favor. Bottom line is, it's our job as servers to give excellent customer service. My hope for you is that by taking the time to read this, you want to be the best you can be in the industry or at the very least change what's not working for you. We will discuss fun tips (pun intended) on how to increase our income. We'll share stories of great experiences as well as the bad experiences that will haunt you forever. We will discuss how to maximize customer satisfaction so that you'll not only make more money but find ways to increase your new and repeat customer base. Increase customer base? Yes. Think of yourself as an Independent Contractor, your own boss, in the service industry. Build a book of business by making sure your guests keep coming back and asking for you. I guarantee they will recommend you to their friends as well, and then BINGO, you're in business. If you're still reading this then you get it, and you have "it" in you.
